Breast cancer

For the inaugural Awards, creators are challenged to produce a short video of no more than 90 seconds focused on breast cancer, and upload it to Health Creator Leaders, where friends, followers and the public can watch and vote on the entries. We want healthcare creators to use their voices to educate, empower and encourage earlier action around breast cancer — making important health information accessible and engaging for communities across Africa.

Why breast cancer matters in Africa

Breast cancer is one of the major health challenges facing women across Africa. Its impact extends far beyond the individual, affecting families, communities and health systems.

Across many African countries, women face late diagnosis and limited access to screening, treatment and specialist cancer care, contributing to poorer outcomes. Barriers can include limited awareness, misinformation, stigma, geographical access to healthcare, and shortages of diagnostic and treatment services.

This campaign aims to help change that by putting credible, evidence-based breast cancer information into the hands of millions of people through trusted healthcare voices.
